JT Form Change converts selected trimmed BRep faces into a quad mesh, then continues automatically to an editable T-spline (Form) body. Use the editable surface for press-die springback compensation geometry, plastic-mold shrinkage and warpage correction, or local styling changes.
Full functionality right after download. No credit card required. Windows only.
Convert the target region to a T-spline and push or pull control points instead of rebuilding surrounding surfaces. JT Form Change helps translate analysis, inspection and trial results into editable compensation geometry.
Locally reshape selected surfaces using compensation values established through forming analysis or press trials, reducing the need to rebuild adjacent surfaces for each iteration.
Apply smooth local changes based on flow analysis, measurements or molding trials while preserving the surrounding styling intent.
Bulge, narrow or blend styling surfaces locally, then use the edited surface with Fusion thickness tools as a basis for variable-thickness design.
Capture the actual shape using 3D scanning, CMM or section measurements.
Align on functional datums and calculate signed deviations.
Use the opposite deviation with a controlled gain, direction and fixed boundaries.
Edit the T-spline locally, mold again, remeasure and update the correction.
Full-field correction of freeform surfaces normally requires a metrology-grade 3D scanner or an outsourced 3D measurement service. CMM or profile measurements can be sufficient for simple bends and controlled sections.
Current scope: JT Form Change does not calculate springback, shrinkage, warpage or wall thickness. It helps apply a strategy obtained from FEA or physical measurements to an editable surface. Automatic scan alignment, deviation calculation and inverse morphing are candidates for a future extension.
3-, 4-, 5+ sided regions, L/U concave outlines, rounded perimeters. Single faces use the exact UV parameter space; multi-face regions use a harmonic-map layout.
Quad mesh → Convert Mesh (Organic) → Form conversion runs automatically and stops with the Form environment open.
Dumbbell shapes are detected before conversion; multi-level necks split recursively with color-coded region selection.
Creases over 20° are processed separately. With Highest accuracy, boundary tracking is exact.
First run only: set Method = Organic / Accuracy = Highest in Fusion's Convert Mesh dialog and press OK. Subsequent runs proceed automatically.
